Environmental Technical Director / Senior Consultant Overview:   A unique advancement opportunity with a leader in Environmental and Safety Compliance Management services.   Environmental Strategy Consultants, Inc, (ESC) established in 1986, is an environmental and safety outsourcing and consulting firm with a strong industrial client base. We are seeking a forward thinking, positive leader and experienced environmental professional for a key management position.   Position Description: The Environmental Technical Director / Serior Consultant is to report to the President of the company. The primary responsibilities include: Client management and interface with existing client base as well as new accounts  (small to midsize companies) with a wide range of project types and services  (primary services are environmental compliance reviews, environmental management, and air services). Oversight and management of multiple projects with ensuring client retention, expansion of services to clients, and development of new clients for existing regulatory requirements as well as future environmental regulations including air regulations changes. Development of proposals to clients and potential clients to expand services and expansion of client base. Provide creative compliance management solutions and services for clients regarding technical issues, permitting, and regulatory impact. Solutions and services must be business oriented, cost effective, practical and appropriate for management of the client’s environmental liability and risk. Responsibilities include, ensuring client commitment to new projects, and making sure that the clients are satisfied with quality and cost of projects and that clients want to continue to retain Environmental Strategy Consultants for repeat projects and other types of projects. Oversight and management, organization and leadership of technical staff including development, hiring, mentoring, scheduling of projects, budget management, and assignment to personnel conducted for maximum profitability goals as well as ensuring technical excellence, quality and client satisfaction. Ensure that ESC profitability and revenue goals are met.   Development of project management methods, approaches, and systems for consistency of work projects, maximum effectiveness, meeting budget, schedules, etc.   Provide leadership and vision for development of the company by providing input on marketing new and existing regulatory and technical areas, company business plan, strategies for business growth and development, technical and project operation, staffing recruitment and, retention activities, and profitability goals.   Minimum Experience and Expertise Requirements: BS in an environmental technical discipline. 12 years or more of relevant and progressive environmental experience with at least 8 years of working for an environmental consulting firm in a technical management and consulting position for industrial client base in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others on project team, be forward thinking, as well as be successful at developing good client relations, client management, meet client expectations resulting in repeat business from clients.   Technical experience in conducting environmental compliance reviews and assessing operations to determine compliance needs including air permitting applications, permit conditions, and reporting. Candidate should be able to provide analysis on impact on operations and business, development of cost effective options and practical compliance and be able to present the advantages and disadvantages of various options for key business decisions by client management. Must have strong interpersonal and listening skills and understanding of client needs, and be able to effectively interface and negotiate with regulators regarding permit conditions, and technological requirements for the benefit of client operation.  Compliance management in other areas such as Form R Reporting, Waste and Wastewater, Stormwater, etc. a plus. Must have working knowledge of Federal regulations, and NJ or Pa regulations.   Candidate is required to have demonstrated the ability to develop excellent technical reports and proposals as well as verbal skills for communication with clients, presentations, etc.  Candidate must also demonstrate the ability to manage staff to produce technically excellent and high quality work product.  Must also be a strong leader with a desire to attract and lead other professionals, should have a commitment to open communication, integrity and team building as well as a commitment to quality, meeting client needs and meeting company goals.   It is essential that candidate have computer proficiency in Excel, Word and use of other key software used in the environmental and project management field.
